Stylebook Education: Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Introduction

Stylebook Education (“the Company”) is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations, services, and supply chains. As a leading provider of education and training for the hair industry, we play a key role in shaping ethical standards in our sector. We are dedicated to ensuring that all learners, partner establishments, and suppliers operate in line with our values of fairness, transparency, and respect for human rights.

Our Business and Structure

Stylebook Education is a full-service platform offering educational resources, training, and career opportunities in the hair industry. We support learners in gaining a deeper understanding of hairstyling and salon operations while helping salons and other establishments connect with highly qualified and potential stylists. In addition, we offer advice and specialised training for aspiring hair professionals. We work with various educational institutions, salons, and suppliers within the industry.

Our Commitment to Combatting Modern Slavery

We recognise the potential for modern slavery and human trafficking within the global hair and beauty industry, especially in supply chains where exploitation may occur. Stylebook Education takes a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, human trafficking, and child labour. We are committed to ensuring that our learners, partners, and educators are not contributing to any form of exploitation.

Supply Chain Overview

Our supply chains include the procurement of educational materials, hair styling products, salon equipment, and digital tools used for training. While our direct operations involve low risk of modern slavery, we acknowledge that certain elements of our extended supply chain may pose higher risks, particularly in industries that provide raw materials for hair products or beauty tools. As such, we are committed to working with ethical and responsible suppliers who share our values.

Policies and Procedures

To prevent modern slavery and ensure ethical practices, Stylebook Education has established the following policies and procedures:

  1. Supplier Code of Conduct: All suppliers must adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which prohibits the use of forced labour, child labour, and any form of human trafficking. The Code outlines our expectations on labour conditions, wages, working hours, and ethical treatment of workers.
  2. Risk Assessments: We regularly assess the risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains. These assessments help us identify any potential vulnerabilities and address them through targeted actions, including supplier engagement and audits.
  3. Training and Awareness: We provide training to our staff, particularly those involved in procurement and supplier management, to raise awareness of modern slavery and ethical labour practices. This helps ensure that our employees understand the risks and can identify and report concerns.
  4. Due Diligence in Partner Selection: When engaging with new salons, educational institutions, and suppliers, we conduct due diligence to ensure they align with our ethical standards. This includes evaluating their labour practices, ensuring fair treatment of employees, and compliance with local and international laws.
  5. Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all employees, partners, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery through our confidential whistleblowing channels. We are committed to investigating any reports and taking appropriate action.

Our Future Actions

To enhance our efforts to combat modern slavery, Stylebook Education is committed to taking the following actions in the coming year:

  • Supplier Engagement: We will strengthen our communication with suppliers to ensure they fully understand and comply with our anti-slavery policies. We aim to establish stronger partnerships that focus on continuous improvement and ethical practices.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: We will improve our systems for monitoring supplier compliance with our modern slavery policies, ensuring greater transparency and accountability in our supply chains. We will also continue to track progress and report on our efforts to combat modern slavery.
  • Raising Awareness in the Hair Industry: As an educational provider, we are uniquely positioned to promote ethical labour practices within the hair industry. We will use our platform to educate learners and establishments on the risks of modern slavery and the importance of fostering a fair and ethical work environment in salons.
