ABOUT SARAH

Hi, I’m Sarah Yorke – a fully qualified hairdresser and the founder of Stylebook Directory and Stylebook Education. I offer in-college and in-salon education sessions designed to help hair and beauty students and professionals build their digital presence, understand modern marketing, and get set up for long-term career success.

I began my career at Durham New College, then trained and worked with Saks, before running my own salon for many years. I later moved into TV and film, completing a BA Hons in SFX and Media Makeup, followed by my PGCE to move into education. Along the way, I noticed a huge gap: learners were leaving college with great hands-on skills—but no digital portfolio, no branding, and no idea how to promote themselves.

That’s why I created Stylebook Education—to fix that gap.

In my sessions, I help students and professionals understand that in today’s industry, your scissors and your digital tools are equally important. I teach how to create a professional profile, build an online portfolio, write bios that get attention, and use social media safely and effectively. Whether you’re a student, an educator, or a salon owner—this is now essential knowledge.

There are also a range of listing packages available through Stylebook, helping you move from simply being listed… to being discovered—by employers, clients, and collaborators.

ONBOARDING & DIGITAL SKILLS LESSON OVERVIEW

This lesson introduces learners to Stylebook Education and supports them in becoming confident, safe, and professional when working online.

During the morning session, learners are welcomed into Stylebook Education and guided through the onboarding process. This includes setting up their learner profiles and understanding how the platform supports their learning journey. Students are introduced to online safety and digital etiquette, learning how to behave respectfully online, protect their personal information, and build a positive digital presence within the industry.

Learners also explore what makes a professional profile, reviewing examples and testing how their own profiles appear. They are supported in developing profiles that reflect their skills, creativity, and professionalism.

In the afternoon, learners take part in a practical session, where they create professional work suitable for their portfolio. They are guided on how to capture high-quality images of their work and safely upload these to their new Stylebook profile. This helps learners begin building a digital portfolio that showcases their progress and achievements.

For Level 3 learners, there may be opportunities to progress into the Stylebook Directory as part of their learning hours. This progression is offered to learners who demonstrate consistent development, professionalism, and a clear flair for working within the digital side of the hair and beauty industry.

This lesson supports learners in building confidence, professionalism, and digital awareness, ensuring they are prepared to work safely online while developing a strong and industry-ready digital presence.

PRICING & FURTHER DETAILS

Training is priced at £1,000 per day plus expenses, accommodating up to 30 learners/places.

This includes a full-day onboarding session delivered personally, along with 12 months’ listing on our education platform.

Additional learners beyond the initial 30 are charged at £50 per person, or you can book an additional training day at the same daily rate.
